Need to gain as much weight as I can before Saturday? (Wrestling)?
Tuesday, June 8th, 2010I weigh 109 and have to weigh MINIMUIM 112 to wrestle in 120 on Saturday for this big tourny. If you ask why not wrestle 110 or 115 the answer is bc they are taken by kids better than me and my coach says that weight needs filled so I’m trying to help the team. ANYWAY I don’t want this weight I’m, gaining to slow me down, I want it most to be muscle. So anyone have some foods I can eat that won’t slow down, but make me gain some weight I can eat? And what exercises can I do? Does curling dumbells for awile help any? Just expand please.
Type of exercise that increases fitness but results in minimal weight loss?
Tuesday, June 8th, 2010I’m a sixteen year old girl, and I want to start exercising just to improve my general physical and mental health. But I’m slightly underweight and I don’t want to lose any more weight. I know running and jogging result in massive weight loss. Is there any exercise I can do that will improve my fitness and stamina but won’t make me lose that much weight? Please help.
Should you do weight training before cardio?
Tuesday, June 8th, 2010I read an article online that was saying doing cardio before weight training is counter productive and that you should do weight training before cardio because when you weight train first, you’re burning off the carbs, and when you do your cardio you’re actually burn off the fat?
I generally do weight training for about 15-20 minutes. I do about 7 or 8 different machines, and I also do 50 minutes on the elliptical daily. By putting weight training first on the days I do both, would that actually help burn fat faster?
Will I grow in height if I did weight training for one year, but then stopped toataly?
Monday, June 7th, 2010I’m 15, turning 16 in two weeks, and have been doing weight training for about almost a year. Will this do permamet damage and won´t let me grow? I did not very heavy excercies at most 80lbs like in chest, and in bicep curls. I measure 168cm, i guess thats like 5,6.
Winning a spot in my wrestling weight class?
Monday, June 7th, 2010I’m a 5”1 eighth grader who is very short for my age. Last year, I wrestled in the 85 pound weight class and had a winning season. However, the last time i weighed myself, i was 87 pounds, 2 pounds over class. Even worse is that the kid who wrestles in the 97 weight class is very good, much stronger than me but not as good putting in moves. I figure i have two options, both have pros and cons.
Option 1: attempt to lose the two pounds by exercising as much as i can. The problem is I’m afraid i wont be able to lose the weight with the little i have. It wont be going Anorexic, just slimming down on the foods I eat.
Option 2: Start working out as much as i can to try and get stronger and win a spot. However, I’m not entirely sure if ill still be able to beat him.
Which option should i choose? If you can come up with something else that could work, please feel free to recommend it.
When i run and exercise and sweat a lot!! is that helping me lose weight or am i just losing water weight?
Monday, June 7th, 2010How much weight training for each muscle group?
Monday, June 7th, 2010Ok I am a 22 yr old female and I have been working out lately, and trying to involve weight training as well. I have been doing legs and abs on one day, shoulders, back and chest on the next day, and arms and running on the third day….. What my question is, is how many weight exercises should I do for each muscle group? For example, I have been doing about 3 different exercises for my biceps (bicepcurls, and 2 different machines that work on ur biceps) ive been doing about 3 sets of 12 on each exercise, so in total about 9 sets of 12 for each muscle group……. Is this good or am I over doing it? Is one set of 12 reps enough??? Please help!! Thanks!!
