I have a bad back, so exercises such as sit ups and squats are very difficult and painful for me. My mum recently brought a running machine (not a treadmill), that works your arms and legs. I am quite happy with the size of my arms, and my legs, but not my belly. Will running on the machine every day help me loose my belly fat, or do i need to try something else.
yeah, any cardio vascular exersize should help burn up excess fat and it should start at the places with the most excess, you might even tone everything else while your there, however if you are wanted to try other sports try swimming, that works all your muscles and can help back pain (Y)
Sure. Any cardio wil make you lose weight all over, including your belly. Eat fish instead of meat. The omega-3s help to reduce belly fat.
Studies have shown that intense cardiovascular activities is the only way to reduce excess abdominal fat. It may take a while you see results, but don’t give up.
Yes it will…although more to the point on your back trouble, I think you should go see a doctor, otherwise it could lead to future, more severe problems. Did you know back pain is in the top 5 most painful conditions to have? It beats giving birth according to some!!!
Also, lateral thigh trainers (or machines similar to the sort) target belly areas too, and are cheap.
Here’s the deal:
You can’t spot-reduce fat. Your body puts it on and takes it off in its own way, so wherever you have the highest concentration of flab (for me it’s my gut) that’s the last place it comes off. The good news is any kind of cardiovascular exercise will help you burn fat. The more fat you burn, the smaller your belly gets.
Here are a few extra tips: (1) If you’re OK with your arms and legs, you may want to do strength training to add some muscle. As you lose body fat, your arms and legs will slim down. If you do strength training, however, you’ll make your arms and legs look even better. (2) Don’t do cardio for more than 40 minutes at a time. If you do, you risk burning muscle instead of fat. On the flipside, you can walk as much as you want without worrying about burning muscle. (3) All the exercise in the world won’t help if your diet is not in order. It’s not rocket-science — cut back on fast food, junk food, soft drinks, and all the bad-for-you stuff and eat more lean meats (fish and poultry are best), whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, eggs, and low-fat or non-fat dairy products. And remember that you can eat right and still gain weight if you eat too much. One trick is to eat five or six small meals or snacks per day instead of eating large meals.
Carolyn,
A running machine can be very helpful in losing body fat. As long as you give yourself enough time and follow a nutritious and balanced diet plan.
Yes it will help, but you want to target the belly. I would run because it is good, however I would also do abs, because is your goal.
For any exercise that you are going to do don’t forget to stretch first, it is recommended to avoid future problems.
Also, I heard of a good exercise plan I believe is call Yummy Mummy that helps you with the belly fat, I saw it at this website if you want to check it out http://www.weightloss-and-health.com
I hope this help you.
