don’t use caffeine before exercise. the point is to use your energy so you can build muscles and improve your heart and lungs. if you use energy drinks, it probably won’t help. and yes, water is good. gatorade is good too because it gives you sugar (not caffeine) for a quick power boost. and all in all, caffeine is not good for you.

Energy drinks are overall bad for your health, stay away from them.
And yes, you should be drinking water WHILE you exercise to prevent dehydration.
