I was thinking about buy one from the store, are they a good workout? Do they count as an aerobic workout? I am working to loose weight around my lower stomach, I’ve got the dreaded rolls. I do crunches every night, I alternate nights between doing pilates and a 30 minute walk/jog, but I want more. I know that crunches alone won’t help so will this be a good investment? Will it help me lose stomach weight or just work out my legs?
I think an elliptical machine would be a better work out but spin bikes are good, too. Get a bike that lets you change the resistance.
crunches don’t cause weight loss unless you do about 3000 a day.. the probably don’t individually burn a calorie ~_~ abs are a minor muscle. running and walking are the way to go.
Bikes are better for cardio workouts. They do tone your legs, and you burn calories because you are obviously exercising.
An exercise bike is a good workout for the lower body, especially if you use lots of resistance and stay on it for about 15-20 minutes to work up a sweat. Crunches are good, but they will not really get rid of the fat. You must do exercises that make you sweat. Cardiovascular workouts are what you need. An exercise bike with the arm thingys would be better than just a regular bike. Make sure that you drink more water to replace the sweat. Keep up the routine and you will lose the fat.
i agree with alka, elliptical machines are total calorie burners!
theyre my absolute favorite! an hour on it burns over 600 calories! and if you do it for only 30 min, well you will burn about 300 calories! awesome, right?!?!
